Turboprop Fly-In Jams Hangar at Rohlsen Airport
The Bohlke International Airways hangar on St. Croix was so jammed with remarkably similar-looking turboprop airplanes, there was barely enough room to walk. The occasion was the first fly-in in the U.S. Virgin Islands for owner/operators of Mitsubishi MU-2 twin-engine turboprops, and some 15 MU-2s and 80 visitors converged on the island from around the country

Honeywell (formerly Bendix King) KRA 405B Radio Altimeter

This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin is to inform owners and operators of aircraft equipped with the KRA 405B Radar Altimeter of a potential undetected failure condition, wherein the Radar Altimeter may provide erroneous altitude information. At this time, this airworthiness concern is not an unsafe condition that would warrant airworthiness directive (AD) action under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Aviation Regulations (14 CFR) part 39.

Proof That Pilot Training Works

In the three years since the FAA issued the Special Federal Air Regulation (S-FAR) requiring extensive regular training and checking for pilots flying the Mitsubishi MU-2 turboprop there have been only two accidents, neither of them involving a fatality. In the 30 months before the rule change there were 14 accidents, 10 of them fatal. That is the most amazing reversal in a safety trend I have ever seen.

Business Aviation Integral To Waste Reduction Technologies
Waste Reduction Technologies (WRT) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, makes high-tech incinerators that ease the overload on municipal landfills. Since most WRT customers are small cities or towns without airline service, the company needs its Mitsubishi MU-2 Marquise turboprop airplane.

“It pays for itself, every day,” says Riley Hagan, owner of WRT. “Without that airplane, we would be a less profitable company.”
